How does Pepecoin network differentiate itself from meme tokens by offering real utility or infrastructure beyond community hype? And what role does PEP play in that ecosystem?

Pepecoin is a Layer 1 blockchain — just like Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin. It was fairly launched, is 100% mineable, and has very low transaction fees comparable to Dogecoin. Importantly, it is merge-minable with Litecoin and Dogecoin, meaning miners can mine all three simultaneously at no extra energy cost. This integration has attracted Litecoin and Dogecoin community members, who discovered Pepecoin through merged mining rewards.

Is Pepecoin EVM compatible or does it operate on a custom blockchain? How easy is it for developers to build or port the apps onto Pepecoin?

Pepecoin operates on its own proof-of-work blockchain and is fully committed to staying PoW. It’s one of just five blockchains integrated into the Bitcoin Computer project, which brings JavaScript-based smart contracts to Pepecoin. Because we are a fork of Dogecoin, future EVM compatibility (via DogeOS) could potentially be integrated as well, opening the door for Solidity smart contracts.

What role does the Pepecoin Core Wallet play in the ecosystem and how user-friendly is it for new crypto users?

Pepecoin Core Wallet serves as both a wallet and a network node. The network currently has over 2,200 nodes worldwide, making it one of the largest in crypto. The wallet is highly familiar to anyone who has used Dogecoin Core, keeping the experience simple and user-friendly for newcomers.

Does relying on LTC/DOGE’s ASIC hashpower risk mining centralization, and if so, how is this mitigated?

Merged mining actually reduces centralization risk by diversifying miner rewards across multiple chains. Miners apply 100% of their hash power to each network, but spread their exposure across several assets. This makes the ecosystem more resilient while still extremely secure — Pepecoin currently runs at around 2.5 petahashes of hash rate.

Beyond mining and fast transactions, what are the current or planned use cases that justify building directly on the Pepecoin layer one? Is there a vision for dApp ecosystem, DeFi integration, or NFT support?

Yes, there is a vision. We’d love to see Matt Furie (creator of Pepe the Frog) bring his NFT work onto the Pepecoin blockchain. We’re also in discussions with the original 2016 Pepe Coin team, who migrated to Ethereum but are building applications like Pepe Paint. Integrating such projects with Pepecoin would help unify various Pepe communities into one larger ecosystem.

Community members have expressed concerns about liquidity and the need for more exchange listings and increased accessibility. Can you share your roadmap for securing listings on major exchanges like Kraken, and how are you addressing liquidity challenges to support Pepecoin's growth?

While we don’t have specific listings to announce, we’re focused on building genuine relationships with platforms like StealthEX, Alchemy Pay, and Kraken. Our strategy emphasizes ecosystem convenience — ensuring that swappers, wallets, and on-ramps are interconnected, making it simple for users to buy and use Pepecoin.

With security tied to Litecoin and Dogecoin's hash rate, what happens if either of those networks undergo a major upgrade or move away from their current mining models? Is Pepecoin network insulated from such risks, or does it rely heavily on their continuing structure?

Merged mining creates a symbiotic relationship — all networks benefit from shared security and higher miner incentives. Pepecoin’s hash rate (2.5 PH/s) makes it one of the most secure meme coins today. Even if changes occur, the flexibility of merged mining ensures long-term resilience.

How do you involve users in governance of your Pepecoin network, and what kind of mechanisms do you have on them? What resources, both grants and then, docs, do you have for developers to build on your network?

Governance follows a Dogecoin-style model — community-driven without on-chain voting. Founders and contributors take community feedback seriously in shaping direction. For developers, Pepecoin inherits Dogecoin’s extensive tooling and documentation, which can be easily adapted. We plan to expand developer documentation on Pepecoin.org in the future.

What’s your business revenue model, and how do you plan to achieve profitability in a volatile market?

Zordiak

We don’t have a war chest of coins. Instead, revenue comes from affiliate commissions with platforms like StealthEX and MEXC. These funds cover listings, marketing, and ecosystem growth. Community donations also help, but the goal is to replace them entirely with commissions.

Community support is huge — groups like the Ribbett Raiders actively help with outreach and marketing. Recently, donations funded a billboard in front of Kraken HQ reading “Got Pepecoin?” — a creative way to push for exchange listings.

Can you share details on the 2025 roadmap for Pepecoin, especially regarding new exchange listings?

Zordiak

We operate with an agile, opportunistic roadmap. Rather than rigid plans, we pursue opportunities as they arise, while continuously building relationships with exchanges and services. The community is also empowered to reach out directly to exchanges and contacts, making growth a collective effort.
